Amidst pandemic, huge youth conference moves online

The Lord’s Flock Catholic Charismatic Community’s biggest event of the year goes virtual due to coronavirus spread.

For the first time in its nearly a decade history, the Singles and Youth Faith on Fire (SYFOF) conference will be held online on August 22.

As mass gatherings are restricted to stem the spread of coronavirus, organizers decided to hold the event via zoom platform and Facebook live from 1pm to 4pm.

SYFOF is a series of conferences, concerts, and other events that focus on spreading the faith to the youth.

Now on its 9th year, and albeit online, it will still feature praise and worship, fellowship and testimonies about the previous SYFOF events.

“As servants of God, we want to extend our hands to all, and now that we’re doing it online, we may reach even farther grounds and reach those who may be looking for a sign,” organizers said.

Among the speakers is Sis. Mik Flores, the executive head servant of The Lord’s Flock, who will talk about how the young people “can keep the fire burning during these uncertain times”.

Performers also include the P.S.A.L.M. Ministry and the New Generation.

In 2019, more than 16,000 young people attended the event held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
