TEACHING OF GOSPEL
 TEACHING OF FAITH
SPIRITUAL SALVATION'S
MESSAGE OF GOD

Romans
Chapter 7:13-25
Sin and Death

13Did the good, then, become death for me? Of course not! Sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin, worked death in me through the good, so that sin might become sinful beyond measure through the commandment.

14We know that the law is spiritual; but I am carnal, sold into slavery to sin.

15What I do, I do not understand. For I do not do what I want, but I do what I hate.

16Now if I do what I do not want, I concur that the law is good.

17So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

18For I know that good does not dwell in me, that is, in my flesh. The willing is ready at hand, but doing the good is not.

19For I do not do the good I want, but I do the evil I do not want.

20Now if [I] do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

21So, then, I discover the principle that when I want to do right, evil is at hand.

22For I take delight in the law of God, in my inner self,

23 but I see in my members another principle at war with the law of my mind, taking me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.

24Miserable one that I am! Who will deliver me from this mortal body?

25Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Therefore, I myself, with my mind, serve the law of God but, with my flesh, the law of sin.

Romans
Chapter 8:1-13
The Flesh and the Spirit

1Hence, now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

2For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed you from the law of sin and death.

3For what the law, weakened by the flesh, was powerless to do, this God has done: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for the sake of sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

4so that the righteous decree of the law might be fulfilled in us, who live not according to the flesh but according to the spirit.

5For those who live according to the flesh are concerned with the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit with the things of the spirit.

6The concern of the flesh is death, but the concern of the spirit is life and peace.

7For the concern of the flesh is hostility toward God; it does not submit to the law of God, nor can it;

8and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9But you are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

10But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

11If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you.

12Consequently, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

13For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

John
Chapter 1:1-18 The Word Become Flesh

1In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

2He was in the beginning with God.

3 All things came to be through him,
and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be

4through him was life,
and this life was the light of the human race;

5 the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.

6 A man named John was sent from God.

7He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him.

8He was not the light, but came to testify to the light.

9The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.

10He was in the world,
and the world came to be through him,
but the world did not know him.

11He came to what was his own,
but his own people did not accept him.

12 But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, to those who believe in his name,

13 who were born not by natural generation nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision but of God.

14And the Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth.

15 John testified to him and cried out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’”

16From his fullness we have all received, grace in place of grace,

17because while the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

18No one has ever seen God. The only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side, has revealed him.

Luke
Chapter 12:13-21
Saying Against Greed

13 Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to share the inheritance with me.”

14He replied to him, “Friend, who appointed me as your judge and arbitrator?”

15Then he said to the crowd, “Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of possessions.

Parable of the Rich Fool

16Then he told them a parable. “There was a rich man whose land produced a bountiful harvest.

17He asked himself, ‘What shall I do, for I do not have space to store my harvest?’

18And he said, ‘This is what I shall do: I shall tear down my barns and build larger ones. There I shall store all my grain and other goods

19 and I shall say to myself, “Now as for you, you have so many good things stored up for many years, rest, eat, drink, be merry!”’

20But God said to him, ‘You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you; and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?’

21Thus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself but is not rich in what matters to God.”

  1 Thessalonians
Chapter 4:9-12
Mutual Charity
9On the subject of mutual charity you have no need for anyone to write you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.

10Indeed, you do this for all the brothers throughout Macedonia. Nevertheless we urge you, brothers, to progress even more,

11and to aspire to live a tranquil life, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your [own] hands, as we instructed you,

12that you may conduct yourselves properly toward outsiders and not depend on anyone.

2 Thessalonians
Chapter 3:6-18
Neglect of Work

6We instruct you, brothers, in the name of [our] Lord Jesus Christ, to shun any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us.

7For you know how one must imitate us. For we did not act in a disorderly way among you,

8nor did we eat food received free from anyone. On the contrary, in toil and drudgery, night and day we worked, so as not to burden any of you.

9Not that we do not have the right. Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you, so that you might imitate us.

10In fact, when we were with you, we instructed you that if anyone was unwilling to work, neither should that one eat.

11We hear that some are conducting themselves among you in a disorderly way, by not keeping busy but minding the business of others.

12Such people we instruct and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to work quietly and to eat their own food.

13But you, brothers, do not be remiss in doing good.

14If anyone does not obey our word as expressed in this letter, take note of this person not to associate with him, that he may be put to shame.

15Do not regard him as an enemy but admonish him as a brother.

16May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

17This greeting is in my own hand, Paul’s. This is the sign in every letter; this is how I write.

18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.

Psalms
Chapter 103:6-18
Praise of Divine Goodness

 6The LORD does righteous deeds,
brings justice to all the oppressed.

7He made known his ways to Moses,
to the Israelites his deeds.

8Merciful and gracious is the LORD,
slow to anger, abounding in mercy.

9He will not always accuse,
and nurses no lasting anger;

10He has not dealt with us as our sins merit,
nor requited us as our wrongs deserve.

III

11For as the heavens tower over the earth,
so his mercy towers over those who fear him.

12As far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our sins from us.

13As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.

14For he knows how we are formed,
remembers that we are dust.

15As for man, his days are like the grass;
he blossoms like a flower in the field.

16A wind sweeps over it and it is gone;
its place knows it no more.

17But the LORD’s mercy is from age to age,
toward those who fear him.
His salvation is for the children’s children

18of those who keep his covenant,
and remember to carry out his precepts.

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
