Matthew
Chapter 15
THE TRADITION OF THE ELDERS

10
He summoned the crowd and said to them, "Hear and understand.
11
It is not what enters one's mouth that defiles that person; but what comes out of the mouth is what defiles one."
12
Then his disciples approached and said to him, "Do you know that the Pharisees took offense when they heard what you said?"
13
He said in reply, 6 "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.
14
Let them alone; they are blind guides (of the blind). If a blind person leads a blind person, both will fall into a pit."
15
Then Peter 7 said to him in reply, "Explain (this) parable to us."
16
He said to them, "Are even you still without understanding?
17
Do you not realize that everything that enters the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled into the latrine?
18
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile.
19
8 For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, unchastity, theft, false witness, blasphemy.
20
These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile."

John
Chapter 2

JESUS CHRIST KNOWS EVERYTHING

23
While he was in Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, many began to believe in his name when they saw the signs he was doing.
24
But Jesus would not trust himself to them because he knew them all,
25
and did not need anyone to testify about human nature. He himself understood it well.

John
Chapter 20

THE PURPOSE OF THE NEW TESTAMENT

30
19 Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of (his) disciples that are not written in this book.
31
But these are written that you may (come to) believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through this belief you may have life in his name.

2 Thessalonians
Chapter 2
CHRIST AND THE LAWLESS ONE
APPOINT OR CHOSEN TO BE SAVE

1
1 We ask you, brothers, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling with him,
2
not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed either by a "spirit," 2 or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand.
3
Let no one deceive you in any way. For unless the apostasy comes first and the lawless one is revealed, 3 the one doomed to perdition,
4
who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god and object of worship, so as to seat himself in the temple of God, 4 claiming that he is a god--
5
do you not recall that while I was still with you I told you these things?
6
And now you know what is restraining, 5 that he may be revealed in his time.
7
6 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. But the one who restrains is to do so only for the present, until he is removed from the scene.
8
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord (Jesus) will kill with the breath of his mouth and render powerless by the manifestation of his coming,
9
the one whose coming springs from the power of Satan in every mighty deed and in signs and wonders that lie,
10
and in every wicked deceit for those who are perishing because they have not accepted the love of truth so that they may be saved.
11
Therefore, God is sending them a deceiving power so that they may believe the lie,
12
that all who have not believed the truth but have approved wrongdoing may be condemned.
13
But we ought to give thanks to God for you always, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits 7 for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in truth.
14
To this end he has (also) called you through our gospel to possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15
Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. 8
16
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting encouragement and good hope through his grace,
17
encourage your hearts and strengthen them in every good deed and word.

Hebrews
Chapter 10

RECALLING THE PAST

19
9 Therefore, brothers, since through the blood of Jesus we have confidence of entrance into the sanctuary
20
10 by the new and living way he opened for us through the veil, that is, his flesh,
21
11 and since we have "a great priest over the house of God,"
22
let us approach with a sincere heart and in absolute trust, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience 12 and our bodies washed in pure water.
23
Let us hold unwaveringly to our confession that gives us hope, for he who made the promise is trustworthy.
24
We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works.
25
We should not stay away from our assembly, 13 as is the custom of some, but encourage one another, and this all the more as you see the day drawing near.
26
14 If we sin deliberately after receiving knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains sacrifice for sins
27
but a fearful prospect of judgment and a flaming fire that is going to consume the adversaries.
28
Anyone who rejects the law of Moses 15 is put to death without pity on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29
Do you not think that a much worse punishment is due the one who has contempt for the Son of God, considers unclean the covenant-blood by which he was consecrated, and insults the spirit of grace?
30
We know the one who said: "Vengeance is mine; I will repay," and again: "The Lord will judge his people."
31
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32
Remember the days past when, after you had been enlightened, 16 you endured a great contest of suffering.
33
At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and affliction; at other times you associated yourselves with those so treated.
34
You even joined in the sufferings of those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, knowing that you had a better and lasting possession.
35
Therefore, do not throw away your confidence; it will have great recompense.
36
You need endurance to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
37
"For, after just a brief moment, 17 he who is to come shall come; he shall not delay.
38
But my just one shall live by faith, and if he draws back I take no pleasure in him."
39
We are not among those who draw back and perish, but among those who have faith and will possess life.

Hebrews
Chapter 13
PLEASING SERVICE TO GOD

14
For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the one that is to come.
15
Through him (then) let us continually offer God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.
16
Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have; God is pleased by sacrifices of that kind.
17
4 Obey your leaders and defer to them, for they keep watch over you and will have to give an account, that they may fulfill their task with joy and not with sorrow, for that would be of no advantage to you.

2 Corinthians
Chapter 3
SERVANT OF THE NEW TESTAMENT

1
1 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you or from you?
2
You are our letter, 2 written on our hearts, known and read by all,
3
3 shown to be a letter of Christ administered by us, written not in ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets that are hearts of flesh.
4
4 Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.
5
Not that of ourselves we are qualified to take credit for anything as coming from us; rather, our qualification comes from God,
6
who has indeed qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of letter but of spirit; for the letter brings death, but the Spirit gives life. 5
7
6 7 Now if the ministry of death, carved in letters on stone, was so glorious that the Israelites could not look intently at the face of Moses because of its glory that was going to fade,
8
how much more 8 will the ministry of the Spirit be glorious?
9
For if the ministry of condemnation was glorious, the ministry of righteousness will abound much more in glory.
10
Indeed, what was endowed with glory has come to have no glory in this respect because of the glory that surpasses it.
11
For if what was going to fade was glorious, how much more will what endures be glorious.
12
Therefore, since we have such hope, 9 we act very boldly
13
and not like Moses, 10 who put a veil over his face so that the Israelites could not look intently at the cessation of what was fading.
14
Rather, their thoughts were rendered dull, for to this present day 11 the same veil remains unlifted when they read the old covenant, because through Christ it is taken away.
15
To this day, in fact, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts,
16
but whenever a person turns to the Lord the veil is removed.
17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, 12 and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
18
13 All of us, gazing with unveiled face on the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, as from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Psalms
Chapter 52
THE DECEITFUL TOUNGE

1
1 For the leader. A maskil of David,
2
when Doeg the Edomite went and told Saul, "David went to the house of Ahimelech."
3
Why do you glory in evil, you scandalous liar? All day long
4
you plot destruction; your tongue is like a sharpened razor, you skillful deceiver.
5
You love evil rather than good, lies rather than honest speech. Selah
6
You love any word that destroys, you deceitful tongue.
7
Now God will strike you down, leave you crushed forever, Pluck you from your tent, uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
8
The righteous will look on with awe; they will jeer and say:
9
"That one did not take God as a refuge, but trusted in great wealth, relied on devious plots."

Psalms
Chapter 54
CONFIDENT PRAYER IN GREAT PERIL

1
1 For the leader. On stringed instruments. A maskil of David,
2
when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, "David is hiding among us."
3
2 O God, by your name save me. By your strength defend my cause.
4
O God, hear my prayer. Listen to the words of my mouth.
5
The arrogant have risen against me; the ruthless seek my life; they do not keep God before them. Selah
6
God is present as my helper; the Lord sustains my life.
7
Turn back the evil upon my foes; in your faithfulness, destroy them.
8
Then I will offer you generous sacrifice and praise your gracious name, LORD,
9
Because it has rescued me from every trouble, and my eyes look down on my foes.

FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
