Acts
Chapter 7

STEPHEN DISCOURSES
WHEN GOD SHOWED TO MOSES AND GIVE HIS MESSAGE
AND APPOINT HIM TO SAVE ISRAELITES

30
"Forty years later, an angel appeared to him in the desert near Mount Sinai in the flame of a burning bush.
31
When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight, and as he drew near to look at it, the voice of the Lord came,
32
'I am the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.' Then Moses, trembling, did not dare to look at it.
33
But the Lord said to him, 'Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.
34
I have witnessed the affliction of my people in Egypt and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to rescue them. Come now, I will send you to Egypt.'

1 Corinthians
Chapter 10
WARING AGAINST OVERCONFIDENCE
1
1 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea,
2
and all of them were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.
3
All ate the same spiritual food,
4
and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, 2 and the rock was the Christ.
5
Yet God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the desert.
6
3 These things happened as examples for us, so that we might not desire evil things, as they did.
7
And do not become idolaters, as some of them did, as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to revel."
8
Let us not indulge in immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell within a single day.
9
Let us not test Christ 4 as some of them did, and suffered death by serpents.
10
Do not grumble as some of them did, and suffered death by the destroyer.
11
These things happened to them as an example, and they have been written down as a warning to us, upon whom the end of the ages has come. 5
12
Therefore, whoever thinks he is standing secure should take care not to fall. 6
13
No trial has come to you but what is human. God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it.
14
7 Therefore, my beloved, avoid idolatry.
15
I am speaking as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I am saying.
16
The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?
17
Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.
18
Look at Israel according to the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar?
19
So what am I saying? That meat sacrificed to idols is anything? Or that an idol is anything?
20
No, I mean that what they sacrifice, (they sacrifice) to demons, 8 not to God, and I do not want you to become participants with demons.
21
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.
22
Or are we provoking the Lord to jealous anger? Are we stronger than he?
23
9 "Everything is lawful," but not everything is beneficial. 10 "Everything is lawful," but not everything builds up.
24
No one should seek his own advantage, but that of his neighbor.

Romans
Chapter 8

GOD'S INDOMITABLE LOVE IN CHRIST

31
8 What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32
He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him?
33
Who will bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who acquits us.
34
Who will condemn? It is Christ (Jesus) who died, rather, was raised, who also is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us.
35
What will separate us from the love of Christ? Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?
36
As it is written: "For your sake we are being slain all the day; we are looked upon as sheep to be slaughtered."
37
No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who loved us.
38
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor present things, 9 nor future things, nor powers,
39
nor height, nor depth, 10 nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians
Chapter 13
TEACHINGS OF LOVE

13
5 So faith, hope, love remain, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Acts
Chapter 26
ST. PAUL NARRATE HIS FAITH

12
"On one such occasion I was traveling to Damascus with the authorization and commission of the chief priests.
13
At midday, along the way, O king, I saw a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and my traveling companions.
14
We all fell to the ground and I heard a voice saying to me in Hebrew, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goad.' 3
15
And I said, 'Who are you, sir?' And the Lord replied, 'I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.
16
Get up now, and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness of what you have seen (of me) and what you will be shown. 4
17
I shall deliver you from this people and from the Gentiles to whom I send you,
18
to open their eyes 5 that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may obtain forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been consecrated by faith in me.'

John
Chapter 10

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

7
5 So Jesus said again, "Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8
6 All who came [before me] are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
9
I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.
10
A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.
11
I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12
A hired man, who is not a shepherd and whose sheep are not his own, sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf catches and scatters them.
13
This is because he works for pay and has no concern for the sheep.
14
I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me,
15
just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep.
16
I have other sheep 7 that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.
17
This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again.
18
No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own. I have power to lay it down, and power to take it up again. 8 This command I have received from my Father."
19
Again there was a division among the Jews because of these words.
20
Many of them said, "He is possessed and out of his mind; why listen to him?"
21
Others said, "These are not the words of one possessed; surely a demon cannot open the eyes of the blind, can he?"

Mark
Chapter 3
THE MERCY OF JESUS CHRIST

7
3 Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples. A large number of people (followed) from Galilee and from Judea.
8
Hearing what he was doing, a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
9
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, so that they would not crush him.
10
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him.
11
4 And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him and shout, "You are the Son of God."
12
He warned them sternly not to make him known.

Sirach
Chapter 36

A PRAYERS FOR GOD'S PEOPLE

16
Hear the prayer of your servants, for you are ever gracious to your people;
17
Thus it will be known to the very ends of the earth that you are the eternal God.

Sirach
Chapter 35

TRUE WORSHIP OF GOD

19
God indeed will not delay, and like a warrior, will not be still
20
Till he breaks the backs of the merciless and wreaks vengeance upon the proud;
21
Till he destroys the haughty root and branch, and smashes the scepter of the wicked;
22
Till he requites mankind according to its deeds, and repays men according to their thoughts;
23
Till he defends the cause of his people, and gladdens them by his mercy.
24
Welcome is his mercy in time of distress as rain clouds in time of drought.

FOR OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEF IN LIFE

EFESO 4:17-18  5:15-17 HEBREWS 4"7
