Buhay Representative Lito Atienza stressed the need to view other social concerns as relevant also to what they are advocating for and will do their best to help one way or another in solving the issues. “We will not choose [only one issue]. We will focus on economics, poverty, unemployment and anti-life issues at the same time,” he said. “But still, our main advocacy is against any death bills that will be introduced in Congress… Economy, values, family, institution of our faith, all of those are connected with our life,” Atienza said. The solon said they want to promote a culture of life as they see it as the genuine solution to the country’s present problems. Atienza on the other hand is thankful that Buhay was voted by 1.3 million people. “With three seats, Buhay can serve the country better. And we are committed to promote the culture of life to the Filipino people,” Atienza added. The congressman also vowed on repealing or amending the Reproductive Health (RH) law which he wants to be reviewed during the 16th Congress. “We will have to size up first the numerical blend and mix of congress. If ever there is an opportunity to repeal it, why not and if not, it can be [amended]. But I’ll definitely check on the component of sex education which is being taught from Grade 5 to 4th year high school students. We need to review that part,” Atienza furthered.
